Studying with MiTraining

  • How do I enrol?

The process is simple and we're here to support you through each step. Browse the course offerings on this website. Once you have chosen your course click "Book Now" or "Apply now" and we'll be in ouch with you to ensure you're set up to succeed.

Still not sure which course is right for you? Phone us on 1300 549 190.

  • Are there pre-requisites or any entry requirements?

There are no educational prerequisites needed to enrol in a MiTraining short course or qualification.

For qualification enrolments, you must be 18 at the time of application or turning 18 within six months of commencing your chosen course. You'll also need easy access to a computer or device with standard software requirements.

If you haven't completed Year 12 (or equivalent) you may be required to do a Language, Literacy and Numeracy quiz which helps us assess your suitability to commence formal study. If English is your second language, we'll require evidence to support your English proficiency - again it's about ensuring you're set up to succeed in your studies.

For more detail about entry requirements download the Student Handbook.

  • How are the courses delivered?

All courses are delivered fully online and are accessed through the MiTraining Learning Management System (LMS) based on Moodle.

The LMS can be accessed at any time from your phone, tablet or PC. The LMS is your online classroom for working through the entire course.

  • What are the course fees?

The total course fees are clearly stated on each course page on the MiTraining website. Course fees are inclusive of:

    • Access to the course materials on the LMS
    • Support and guidance from a qualified trainer (short courses and qualifications, excluding micro courses)
    • Course assessment (qualifications)
    • Administrative and technical support from student services
  • How can I pay for my course?

MiTraining is a fee-for-service provider. That means we don't offer the VET Student Loans (previously called VET Fee-Help) scheme.

We do offer exceptional training courses with no hidden costs, interest or charges to our students.

Payment for short courses is required prior to commencement of the course. Flexible payment plan options including a deposit amount and instalments are available for qualifications.

The total course fees are clearly stated on each course page on this website. For more information view the course payment options page.

  • Does studying online mean I'm on my own?

No way! Online learning has come a long way since its introduction... and it's not just an internet-based version of distance learning.

If you're studying a qualification, you'll have a dedicated trainer to support you through your study.

Not sure you fully understand a concept? Just ask.

Having trouble addressing an assessment item? We're here for you.

Can't locate the resources you need to move forward. We can help.

    Contact Student Services at support@mitraining.edu.au.

  • What support is available to new students?

We may be an online learning provider but we're real people. You'll be fully supported by our Student Services team based in Brisbane.

For questions or help about an aspect of your studies the Student Services team are available at support@mitraining.edu.au or 1300 549 190.

  • Can I gain credit or recognition for previous training and experience?

Yes. Recognition of current skills and knowledge can occur through credit transfer and recognition of prior learning.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) involves reviewing previous work experience or skills that might help to fast-track completion of a qualification.

Credit transfer recognises previous formal learning to assess what previous course or subject is equivalent to the required learning outcomes of the qualification.
