Use Inclusive Work Practices

Develop the skills and knowledge required to recognise and interact productively with diverse groups of individuals in the workplace. It covers responding to and working effectively with individual differences that might be encountered during the course of work.

The course is suited to individuals who work in a variety of contexts where they will be expected to interact with diverse groups of individuals. They may also provide some leadership and guidance to others and have some limited responsibility for the output of others.

Course Content

This course is structured into four modules:

1. Establish practices that support individual differences in the workplace

  • Identify individual differences
  • Identify organisational policies and procedures
  • Help develop plans that incorporate inclusive practices

2. Work effectively with individual differences

  • Document the knowledge, skills and experience of team members
  • Share skills to support colleagues and clients
  • Implement work practices that demonstrate the value of diversity
  • Modify communication

3. Assess use of inclusive practices

  • Seek feedback from your supervisor
  • Evaluate feedback and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Improve your work practices according to legislative requirements and enterprise guidelines

4. Additional learning

  • Reasonable adjustments that facilitate participation by people with a disability

Course Duration

You have a full three months access to the learning resources to complete this course.
