The Mental Health First Aid® (Standard) two-day course teaches people (18 years and over) how to offer initial support to other adults who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or are in a mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
On undertaking a short assessment your certificate is issued from Mental Health First Aid® Australia and, on successful completion, you may use the title of accredited Mental Health First Aider™.
About this course
Building a psychologically safe workplace starts from a foundation of empathy. It’s about leading with care, compassion and curiosity. And for those organisations prioritising staff mental health, the bottom line has never looked better.
The effects of mental illness can present differently in the workplace, but can often be masked just below the surface. While physical first aid is widely accepted as a 'must-have', many people do not know how to support a colleague, friend or family member with mental health challenges.
This course teaches you the skills to be prepared and confident to facilitate conversations, provide guidance, and support to colleagues and staff coping with emotional distress as an accredited Mental Health First Aider™ in your workplace.
